Set Up Content Preferences

Tell AI what topics to find by configuring your newsletter preferences. This is how DailyDraft knows what content to discover and curate for you.

Accessing Preferences

Navigate to your newsletter, then click Settings → Preferences in the sidebar.

Keywords

Keywords are the primary way AI finds relevant content. Enter topics, terms, and phrases related to your newsletter.

Tips for Great Keywords

  • Be specific: "React hooks" is better than just "React"
  • Include variations: "AI, artificial intelligence, machine learning"
  • Add industry terms: Include jargon your audience uses
  • Mix broad and narrow: "Tech news" + "startup funding"
AI Enhancement: Click "✨ Improve Keywords" to have AI expand and optimize your keyword list.

Categories

Categories help organize and filter discovered content. Select categories that match your newsletter's focus:

  • Technology
  • Business & Finance
  • Science & Research
  • Marketing
  • Design
  • Culture & Lifestyle
  • And more...

Target Audience

Describe your ideal reader. This helps AI:

  • Write in an appropriate tone and style
  • Select content at the right technical level
  • Prioritize articles your audience cares about

Example Audience Descriptions

Tech Newsletter: "Software developers and engineering managers interested in practical coding tips, new frameworks, and industry trends. They prefer technical depth over surface-level news."
Business Newsletter: "Startup founders and small business owners looking for actionable advice on growth, funding, and operations. They value case studies and data-driven insights."

Content Settings

Article Freshness

Control how recent articles should be:

Setting Best For
24 hours Daily news digests
7 days Weekly newsletters (recommended)
30 days Monthly roundups, evergreen content

Article Length

Set minimum and maximum article lengths to filter out content that's too short (might be low quality) or too long (might overwhelm readers).

Domain Sources

Control which websites AI searches for content:

  • Whitelist Mode: Only search specified domains (stricter control)
  • Blacklist Mode: Search everywhere except specified domains

Click "Refresh Domains" to have AI suggest relevant sources based on your keywords.

Saving Changes

Click "Save Preferences" to apply your changes. New preferences will be used the next time you fetch articles.

Pro Tip: Revisit your preferences periodically and refine based on the quality of articles AI finds. Small tweaks can significantly improve results.
