Email Providers
Configure your email sending provider for optimal deliverability.
Paid Feature: Custom email provider configuration is available on paid plans.
Supported Providers
DailyDraft integrates with leading email delivery services:
| Provider | Best For |
|---|---|
| Postmark | High deliverability, detailed analytics |
| SendGrid | Large volume sending, good free tier |
| Amazon SES | Cost-effective at scale |
| Mailgun | Developer-friendly, good for testing |
Why Use a Custom Provider?
Using your own email provider gives you:
- Better deliverability - Build your own sender reputation
- More control - Configure bounce handling, feedback loops
- Cost savings - Pay only for what you send
- Custom domain - Send from your own domain
Setting Up Your Provider
- Go to Settings → Email Provider
- Select your provider from the dropdown
- Enter your API credentials
- Configure your sending domain
- Click "Save & Verify"
Domain Authentication
For best deliverability, authenticate your sending domain:
Required DNS Records
| Type | Purpose |
|---|---|
| SPF | Authorizes servers to send on your behalf |
| DKIM | Cryptographically signs your emails |
| DMARC | Tells receivers how to handle auth failures |
Your provider will give you specific DNS records to add. See their documentation for details.
Testing Your Setup
After configuration:
- Send a test email to yourself
- Check email headers for DKIM/SPF pass
- Verify "from" address shows your domain
- Test delivery to Gmail, Outlook, and other providers
Default Provider
If you don't configure a custom provider, DailyDraft uses its shared sending infrastructure. This works well for getting started but may have lower deliverability for large lists.
Recommendation: Set up your own email provider once you reach 1,000+ subscribers for best deliverability.
